Magical Miniatures
If you love all things magical and miniature you are in the right place.
About me and my blog
I am a mother of three and work on a market stall. In my free time I love to make magical miniatures. It all started with my gran who spent hours when I was a child teaching me how to make do. This entailed mending and fixing and making things from scratch. My dolls house consisted of cardboard boxes with windows cut out, beautifully decorated and all furniture hand made. We sat for hours making clothes and accessories for my dolls to the envy of my friends that all had the same generic stuff. So thanks gran for the inspiration. I hope you enjoy my art and my blog. Thanks for visiting.

Voodoo chair
I have had the idea for a voodoo chair since I saw the brown beads I used to make it with. They just have that look. The back is a brass look metal that I attached pewter spiders too. The seat is card covered with brown velvet. Once this bit is dry i'll attach the legs, also made from the brown beads.

A finished pickled witch
At last it is finished. I decided the outside of the jar needed no complicated extras to distract from the scene inside. Instead I have painted the metal fastener black, I think this sets off the pickled witch scene well.

Another pickled witch
I have set my pickled witch scene at last. Just awaiting glue to dry! I painted the base of the flower garden black to blend in better with the floor and added the finished cat.
I think it has turned out great. Just the outside to do next.

A new pickled witch, next steps
I am a little further on in my larger pickled witch. The spider and web are on the street lamp and that's now in the jar.
I have made three wooden mushrooms, painted them up and sprinkled a little glitter magic over the top. Now they just need to dry.
Next was the cat that I made from milliput clay and used two green glass flat backed jewels for eyes. I need to cut in around the eyes once the paint is dry and add some fury detail. Then I made a small flower patch using some tiny flowers set in clay.
I created a base for Belladonna the witch to keep her steady once she is inserted into the jar too. Once everything is dry and completed the scene will be set and i'll start on the outside of the jar.

Another pickled witch
After amending my pot doll and turning her into Belladonna I decided to make another pickled witch. This time in a larger pickle jar. I first glued coarse black glitter at the bottom of the jar as a base, then decided that i'd like an old looking street lantern with a web and dangling spider. Although not yet finished I thought you may like a look.
The street light I made from clay, assortait, coarse gold glitter, enamel paint and a bamboo garden stick.
The spider is two beads and silver wire and the web is silver wire.
Once i've made a few more little things I shall set my scene in the pickle jar.

My magical pictures
On looking out of the window this morning we were met by thick fog. My fiance wanted to take a walk and grab some photo's so I grabbed my Jasmin Becket fairy and my fave small witch, armed myself with glitter and had a go at a bit of photograph myself.
I played with them in Pixlr. Its free and fun.
