Magical Miniatures
If you love all things magical and miniature you are in the right place.
About me and my blog
I am a mother of three and work on a market stall. In my free time I love to make magical miniatures. It all started with my gran who spent hours when I was a child teaching me how to make do. This entailed mending and fixing and making things from scratch. My dolls house consisted of cardboard boxes with windows cut out, beautifully decorated and all furniture hand made. We sat for hours making clothes and accessories for my dolls to the envy of my friends that all had the same generic stuff. So thanks gran for the inspiration. I hope you enjoy my art and my blog. Thanks for visiting.

Leaf fairy
Ive been looking for things to dress my hanging fairys in other than feathers. I found some fake leaves at a craft store and thought they would come in handy for something one day.
Well they have. I created the skirt from the fake leaves. Shaping it as i stuck them down. Once id done that i made 3 net underskirts that I put underneath over the top of eachother for extra effect. I bound her feet with gold ribbon and made a sash for her waist. Then I made the wings from the leaves and wire.

Another lantern garden
Well I have had a nice couple of sales over the past few weeks one being a lantern id created a tiny garden scene in. Ive just had an order for another one so I started it today.
Ive used a different style of lantern for this one so I hope she likes it.
As with the first one she wants a street light within the scene. This one I have mainly carved from balsa wood. I have added a base into the lantern and ill cover it in t bag soil then add flowers.
Ive also made a bench from balsa wood to add to the scene.
I started with these...
And ended up with this...
Im pretty pleased so far.
I must apologise for the bad pictures.

1.12 Rabbit hutch
After scaling a rabbit hutch down to 1.12 scale I set about making one from balsa wood. It worked out at 6 inches wide 2 inches deep and 4.5 inches high.
I made two boxes cutting a square hole in the bottom of the top box and adding a ladder leading into the bottom. On both floors I sprinkled sawdust.
Using a piece of oven mesh I cut out a small piece to add to the door as the bars. The caged bottom will be oven mesh too.

Hanging fairy witches and princess
I gave my new hanging witches and fairy a glittery belt each and I think it finishes there dresses off just nicely. Also I have finished off the neck lines and sleeve edges with ribbon.
Then I wanted to do a different kind of skirt rather than feathers. Using a very fine net I folded and glued it so it would hang how I wanted and added pieces of fine ribbon just a little longer than the net. I made tiny bows and added them to the ribbon gluing it into place.
