Magical Miniatures

If you love all things magical and miniature you are in the right place.

About me and my blog

I am a mother of three and work on a market stall. In my free time I love to make magical miniatures. It all started with my gran who spent hours when I was a child teaching me how to make do. This entailed mending and fixing and making things from scratch. My dolls house consisted of cardboard boxes with windows cut out, beautifully decorated and all furniture hand made. We sat for hours making clothes and accessories for my dolls to the envy of my friends that all had the same generic stuff. So thanks gran for the inspiration. I hope you enjoy my art and my blog. Thanks for visiting.

Dried mushrooms

I decided to leave some mushrooms on the side next to the heater for several days to see what would happen and as I hoped they dried out well. Not sure where I will use them yet but I will use them some where.

More Alice

I made a tiny bottle from beads and i'm going to add a tag with drink me on it.
I have also tried to make a slice of cake for the eat me aspect but having never done food before it's not great! Hopefully the paint job will do wonders !!!

Altered doll

My aunt Babs handed me a doll and said what can you do with that. Well I cut off her brown hair, replacing it, threw away her shorts and t shirt making her a Gothic gown and gave her a makeover painting her face.
This is how she turned out.

T light jar, the next step

Another layer of paint, waiting to dry, then more paint. I think another coat on the window detail then two more on the rest of the jar should do it.
Once i've finished all the painting and it's dry i'll pop in a night light and take another picture.
Also the finished article will have a lid for when it's not in use.
When awaiting paint to dry I do wish I had a work space so I could work on more than one thing at a time. My home is so small I work on my knee! Not very professional I know.

T light jar

I decided to do a t light jar. I designed a picture, then drew it again at the size I actually wanted! Then traced it roughly onto the glass. I have got as far as my first few coats of enamel paint.
Once dry ill add all the detail and paint the whole jar except the window dark blue.
I didn't use glass paint as I only want the light to come through the pains of glass and not the picture pieces.

Baby dragon

My friend wanted a baby dragon for her mum for mothers day. So out came the milliput clay and the enamel paint. Gavin the baby dragon turned out like this.
I hope her mum liked him.
