Magical Miniatures

If you love all things magical and miniature you are in the right place.

About me and my blog

I am a mother of three and work on a market stall. In my free time I love to make magical miniatures. It all started with my gran who spent hours when I was a child teaching me how to make do. This entailed mending and fixing and making things from scratch. My dolls house consisted of cardboard boxes with windows cut out, beautifully decorated and all furniture hand made. We sat for hours making clothes and accessories for my dolls to the envy of my friends that all had the same generic stuff. So thanks gran for the inspiration. I hope you enjoy my art and my blog. Thanks for visiting.

Ogres cavern

I have an image in my head of an Ogre sitting in an oversized chair within the fallen walls of a crystal cave. So I decided to try and bring it to life.
I started by buying my first lot of polymer clay to make my Ogre. I wanted a push mould but could not find what I wanted. I had to just make him freehand in the end. None of this is actually anywhere near done but I wanted to show it so far.
My tree is made from wire and covered in felt and Moss for the leaves. The Cave ruins are glass pieces that I built up. The edge of one of the walls twists off to create what will be a pool. Inside I have set tiny turquoise and aquamarine beads as the bed but I will add scenic water over the top.
Just about to mix up some t bag and sand soil for the floor then I can start to finish everything I have started to make off and whip up everything else I will need to set the scene.
