Magical Miniatures

If you love all things magical and miniature you are in the right place.

About me and my blog

I am a mother of three and work on a market stall. In my free time I love to make magical miniatures. It all started with my gran who spent hours when I was a child teaching me how to make do. This entailed mending and fixing and making things from scratch. My dolls house consisted of cardboard boxes with windows cut out, beautifully decorated and all furniture hand made. We sat for hours making clothes and accessories for my dolls to the envy of my friends that all had the same generic stuff. So thanks gran for the inspiration. I hope you enjoy my art and my blog. Thanks for visiting.

1.12 scale living room chair

I am lucky enough to work next door to a wonderful haberdashery so I nipped in for some fat quarters. I chose a couple to use for covering my 1.12 scale couch and chair. The darker one will cover the backs and arms and the pale one for the cushions.
I also grabbed some padding too.
For a start I made  paper cut outs of the arms and back of the chair, pinning them to a double piece of wadding, cutting them out leaving a small edge. Then I sewed them together leaving a gap to slot the wood into, turned them the right side out then inserted the wood.
Next I made a start with the material doing the same thing as with the padding.
Ive only done the back of the chair so far so ill crack on tomorrow.
